KFC is one of the largest fast-food brands in the world and promotional strategy plays a significantly important role in the way of its success. A slogan is a start, KFC – “Finger Lickin’s Good” is so great that it has managed to stick around since the 1950s. Why does “Finger Lickin’s Good” work? Because it shows how people feel about KFC food, the slogan itself makes us think of tasty food. Lickin’s word makes the brand feel casual, feel like home and it keeps customers feel that they want to keep eating it every day.

Promotion is almost always used to get people to try a new product or to get nonusers to try an existing product. All KFC stores offer their customers various types of incentives to buy their chicken. Spending a particular amount throughout fixed time, by using coupons that one can acquire, customers can enjoy the benefits of free new or existing meals or free add-ons. Additionally, they provide meal vouchers and exciting offers in their print ads, which the customer must cut and bring along.

Giving information about the product to its customer is also very important, especially the product related to food and drink. In KFC, KFC’s specialty is fried chicken served in various forms. KFC’s primary product is pressure-fried pieces of chicken made with the original recipe. The main products of KFC are fried chickens, but KFC tried to develop new products for suitability with the modern trend, the menu for health. Using various advertisement forms, KFC is giving all the ingredients information, calorie consumption to customers through its menu or advertising on social media.

Another purpose of promotion is to keep customers from switching products. The competitors of KFC are also the largest brands in the fast-food industry such as McDonald, Burger King, Subway, Pizza Hut or Domino’s Pizza. Slogan as stated still plays a central role in this task of keeping loyal customers. “Finger Lickin’s Good” remind customers about the brand and KFC has claimed it has the taste that consumers prefer over time. KFC also creates brand loyalty by accepting customer feedback, customers demand, and customer comments via social media, newspaper, television, radio. Customers would leave back their comments about the product offered by KFC. Then KFC produces the products that customers will be satisfied with from their feedback. A returning customer is always a satisfied customer.

So how KFC does identify new customers? This makes the author remembers the really popular advertisement that KFC has introduced on YouTube for a quite long period time. “Did someone say KFC? I don’t care, I love it” commercial has gone viral across the world. It has a series of ads with different types of acting and promoting but also ending with that sentence. Despite there are also some complaints about some people getting offended by several ads, this ad is still viral on social media and this as a result, day by day triggering more and more new customers.
